Cooperation between CAS and Local Authorities New Type Catalyst Industrialized Recently, a coated monolith catalyst for the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx developed by the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) team headed by Prof. Wang Shudong has been successfully put into commercial operation for the first time at the ammonium nitrate plant of the Yuntianhua Co. Ltd. The catalytic converter was set up at the outlet of the absorption tower of the plant for treating the NOx-containing tail gases. This new generation monolith catalyst was developed on the basis of a long term effort of the DICP Energy Environment Engineering Research Group in the R&D of abatement catalysts for de-NOx processes in nitric acid production. The proprietary DICP catalyst has been proved to possess excellent properties£¬achieving NOx conversions of around 98vol.%, with ammonia slip lower than 10 ppm, at 230 C and GSHV (NTP) of 20000 h?1.Moreover, reaction pressure is lower than conventional counterparts. Also, anti-corrosion ability against acids is high, while thermal expansion coefficient is low. An international PCT patent has already been filed for the new catalyst. |
