CAS First Overseas Research Unit Established in Singapore

On Oct. 13, the Institute of Automation, CAS and the Media Development Authority, Singapore, concluded an agreement to jointly establish a Sino-Singapore Digital Media Research Institute, aiming to develop research on interactive digital media. It is the first research unit established by CAS abroad. The Chinese side will dispatch 40 scientific research personnel to work in the research institute. Both parties will develop cooperative research and exchanges in various fields and the cooperation modes will cover scientific research personnel exchange, technical cooperation with enterprises, intellectual property sharing, jointly publishing science articles, etc.
FY Satellite Began to Provide Service for 17 Asian-Pacific Countries
To fulfill the promise on international disaster prevention and reduction and support for the earth observation activities in the Asian-Pacific countries, Chinese FY Satellite has begun to officially provide earth observation service for 17 countries in the Asian-Pacific Region from Oct. 11.
