The nameplate unveiling ceremony for the CAS Center for Earth Observations and Digital Earth (CEODE) was held on Nov. 21, in Beijing. The event brought together more than 500 senior officials and prestigious scholars from government departments, research institutes, universities and international organizations. Jiang Mianheng, Vice President of CAS, representatives of UNESCO and experts from Canada, Austria, the Netherlands and China¡¯s Hong Kong SAR delivered the congratulation speeches on the event.
On the same day, other two kicking-off ceremonies were held respectively for an Earth Observation Capability Building Center jointly launched by CAS and the Natural Resources Canada and a Spatial Data Center co-sponsored by China and Australia respectively.
