Einstein Professorship Program

The Einstein Professorship Program is a key initiative of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Einstein Professorships will be awarded each year to 20 distinguished international scientists actively working at the frontiers of science and technology, for conducting lecture-tours to China. The goals of the program are to strengthen science and technology links, cooperation and exchange between CAS scientists and respective Einstein professors and their laboratories and enhance the training of future generations of scientists in China.

CAS Visiting Professorships for Senior International Scientists

The aim of the Visiting Professorships Program is to enhance the science & technology innovation capacity of CAS institutes by inviting accomplished researchers from overseas to participate in research of CAS intending to strengthen the cooperation and exchange between CAS institutes and international research institutions and universities. The Visiting Professorships Program is designed for international scientists either currently or previously working in well-known universities, research institutes or multi-national corporations, who wish to develop an effective long-term collaborative relationship with CAS. These scientists should have the same or similar research interests as their CAS collaborators. The Visiting Professorships Program provides for visits of 2-12 months duration. Funding covers personal expenses of the visiting international scientists. Such visits may be extended by agreement.

CAS Fellowships for Young International Scientists

The purpose of the Fellowships is to promote academic exchange and cooperation between CAS institutions and international research institutions and universities and the development of talented scientists, by attracting young international scientists to conduct a period of cooperative research at CAS institutes. The Fellowship provides for visits of 12 months duration and funding covers the personal expenses of the international visitors. Such visits may be extended by agreement for a further period of up to 12 months.There are two application routes for the Fellowships. Applications may be submitted by a CAS host institute or by a designated international partner institution of CAS.

CAS Award for International Scientific Cooperation

To commend foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to the international cooperation of CAS, the Award for International Scientific Cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was established in 2007. So far, 5 experts have been granted the award, evoking resounding response at home and abroad.
