High-performance Magnesium Alloy Industrialized

Recently, a major project of “high-performance rare-earth magnesium alloy and its application in automotives” under the Northeast Rejuvenation Scientific Operation Program co-sponsored by the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, CAS and Changchun Faw Foundry Co., Ltd. passed the acceptance inspection. This program owns and utilizes the first set of extrusion process and technology of rare-earth magnesium alloy for automotives in China and has made many innovations with home grown intellectual property rights. Several kinds of auto parts developed under this program have been put into mass production. At the same, the biggest demonstration base for high-performance rare-earth magnesium alloy industry in China was established. During implementation period of the program, the sales of rare-earth magnesium alloy products reached 87.34 million RMB yuan.
