Cooperation between CAS and Local Authorities Industrialization of DMTO Technology The first technology license contract for the demonstration project of industrialization of the new-generation methanol to low-carbon olefins (DMTO-II) technology, independently developed by China, was signed on Oct. 26. The Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group, Sinopec Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Corporation and Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) of CAS signed the contract with Shaanxi Pucheng Clean Energy Chemical Company, Ltd. The first technology license contract for the industrialization of DMTO-II technology in the world marks a key step in the industrialization of the worldĄŻs leading and indigenous DMTO-II technology. On May 19, 2010, the indigenous DMTO-II technology developed by DICP passed 72-hour in-situ evaluation of commercial trial production in Hua County, Shaanxi Province. On Jun. 26, DMTO-II technology passed the appraisal organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association. On Aug. 8, the first commercial methanol to low-carbon olefins unit in the world, with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of olefins using DMTO-I technology, successfully completed its first commissioning at Shenhua Baotou Plant, which is a milestone in the production of olefins from coal in China. Li Jinghai, Vice President of CAS, addressed at the signing ceremony. The signing of the first technology license contract for the demonstration project of industrialization of the DMTO-II technology marks a key step in the industrialization of the indigenous DMTO-II technology. |
