Spotlights of Exchanges

• From Mar. 5 to Mar. 8, Dr. Ashiq, Senior Adviser of WWF-Pakistan, paid a visit to the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology & Geography, CAS for discussion on cooperation of research in the trans-boundary areas between China and Pakistan Pamir Region. Both parties decided to hold a small-scale international seminar in Kashi and Pamir Region in June 2008, with the aim to launch a long-term action plan on the environmental protection and sustainable development in this region.
• President Baatar Chadraa of the Morgolian Academy of Sciences paid a visit to the Cold and Arid Regions Environment and Engineering Research Institute on March 31 and signed an agreement on the construction project for a field eco-observation station in the Republic of Mongolia with the Institute.
• On April 2 afternoon, Dr. Boo Kheng Hua, Principal and CEO of the Temasek Politechnic, Singapore and his entourage paid a visit to the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics and signed an agreement of cooperation on fuel cells.
