Bai Chunli Pays Visit to UK In January 2007, a delegation led by Bai Chunli, Executive Vice President of CAS paid a visit to UK. On Jan. 15 afternoon, Prof. Bai visited the headquarters of the International Society of Chemical Industry (ISCI) in London on invitation. As Vice President of ISCI, Prof. Bai was appointed as a principal patron of the Society thanks to his significant achievement and influence in his field as well as his continuous support to ISCI. From 2006 to 2007, only five celebrities won such honor. On Jan. 16, Prof. Bai gave a lecture entitled ˇ°Nano-structures of the Surface of Organic Moleculesˇ± at the Queen Mary University of London; on 16th afternoon , he met with Prof. Martin Rees, President of the Royal Society in London; on Jan. 17, he made a presentation on the developments of nanotechnology in China at a forum under the auspices of DEMOS, a London-based think tank. Former U.S. President George Bush Gives Talk at China Sciences and Humanities Forum On Dec. 14, Former U.S. President George Bush paid a visit to the Postgraduate University of CAS, and made a presentation entitled "Sino-U.S. Relations in the New Century" at the "China Sciences and Humanities Forumˇ±. Bush pinpointed out that the bilateral relations between China and the United States would be the most important bilateral relations in the 21st century, not only affecting China and the United States, but also influencing the peace of the world.
