Bai Chunli Meets Science Editor-in-Chief

Bai Chunli, President of CAS, met with Marcia McNutt, Editor-in-Chief of Science magazine in Beijing on Jan. 13, 2014. They exchanged views on further cooperation in the field of international science communication, etc.-4

Zhang Yaping Visits Laos and Myanmar

Zhang Yaping, Vice President of CAS, paid a visit on invitation to the scientific authorities and institutions of Laos and Myanmar Dec. 19–25, 2013. In Laos, Zhang met with the Minister and Deputy Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology of Laos  and a memorandum was signed. In Myanmar, Zhang met with Aye Myint Maung, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry. Zhang elaborated the S&T cooperation strategy of China toward developing countries. Aye Myint Maung responded that a 3-year-long memorandum of S&T cooperation had been signed by the ministry with Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), CAS , and several projects had already been conducted. In addition to the above institutions, Zhang and his group also paid a visit to the Myanmar Geosciences Society.
