First CMOS Receiving Chip for Global Satellite Navigation Developed

Recently, it was announced that a kind of low-cost receiving chip sets for satellite navigation applied to cell phones had successfully developed in China jointly by the Institute of Microelectronics, CAS and the Hangzhou Zhongke Microelectronics Co., Ltd., after their successful development of the first CMOS receiving RF and base band chips for global satellite navigation.

Demonstration Plant of Synthetic Petroleum Commissioned

On Dec. 11, the trial commission of the synthetic petroleum industrial demonstration unit, which was built in Yunnan Jiehua Chemical Group Co., Ltd. using the key technology of the Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry, CAS and with an annual output of 3,500 tons, was conducted successfully and qualified No. 93 petroleum product was made. The success in the commission of such unit has opened up a feasible technical route for the development of the Chinese coal liquefaction industry, and may become one of the important routes that can produce high clean petroleum from coal in future in China. It is reported that such unit features one coal liquefaction industrial demonstration unit with the largest petroleum production capacity among those under service in the country as well as one achievement made through the cooperation and innovation of the industry, institution and research institute. The main reactor of the unit is one fixed-bed adiabatic one with a diameter of 1 meter. Based on this, the production scale of a single reactor can be directly amplified to 100,000 tons petroleum per year.
