Exchanges with Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau

Bai Chunli Visits Taiwan

From Feb. 18 to 24, a delegation headed by CAS President Bai Chunli from the mainland visited Taiwan (China). The delegation visited Academia Sinica (AS) in Taipei and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) in Hsinchu. At ITRI, President Bai held talks with Prof. Jyuo-Min Shyu, President of ITRI. During his visit to AS, President Bai and Prof. Chi-Huey Wong, President of AS, presided over a bilateral academic exchange seminar. The two presidents agreed to further promote substantial cooperation between the two academies, particularly in the training of postgraduate students and in areas of common interests. The two presidents signed a MOU on academic exchanges between the two organizations. The delegation also visited Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Tsing Hua University (NTHU) and Taiwan University (NTU).
