Applied TechnologyAll-vanadium Redox Flow Energy Storage Cells Make Big Headway The all-vanadium redox flow energy storage cell ¨C LED screen demonstration system independently researched and developed by a team of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS headed by Zhang Huamin has been continuously under operation for more than one year from July 2007, without any failure, the accumulated operation period of which is up to 8,800 hours. The demonstration system consists of the three parts as KW-scale cell system, energy management and control system and LED screen (load), and the all-vanadium redox cell system with a rated output of 2kW is the core. Up to date, the output performance of such cell system has no obvious decline. The abovementioned results show that the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics has made important progress in improving the stability and durability of all-vanadium redox flow energy storage cells. Meanwhile, the research team also got great progress in developing the all-vanadium redox flow energy storage cell system with large power, which has successfully manufactured the first generation of 100kW-level all-vanadium redox flow energy storage cell system. Such system consists of ten all-vanadium redox flow cell modules with a rated output of 10kW, featuring the largest redox flow energy storage cell system in China up to now. |
