MELK Technology Developed The MELK Technology developed based on cooperation between CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biology (PICB), Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, CAS and the University of Magdeburg is capable of mapping hundreds of different proteins in one tissue section or cell sample. The Oct. 2 issue of international journal Nature Biotechnology published this manuscript as cover paper. The research result shows that MELK technology may facilitate the development of diagnostics and targeted therapies and locate the proteins that consist the protein network. The cover paper points out that the state-specific lead proteins must obey a certain temporal and spatial regulation, while detection and measurement of such regulation is the biggest challenge in the study of proteomics.
3rd China-Russia Women's Culture Week Kicks off On Oct. 20th, the 3rd China-Russia Women's Culture Week held the opening ceremony grandly in Beijing. The women scientists from both China and Russia and other delegates met to witness the cross-cultural friendship between the two big countries.
