Chinese Forum on Science and Humanities: 6 th Session Closed
On the afternoon of Dec. 3, the 6 th Session of the Chinese Forum on Science and Humanities, hosted by the Graduate School of CAS and the Higher Education Publishing House, was closed successfully in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Wu Jinglian, famous Chinese economist, and Chen Jianmin, Director General of the China Earthquake Administration, delivered lectures entitled What Road to Industrialization Should China Follow and Prevention of Earthquakes in China and Earthquake Relief respectively at the last session of the session.
First National Standard for 3C Industry Makes Breakthrough

The first national standard of IGRS for the Chinese 3C industry has made another breakthrough by establishing an IT engineering center for Intelligent Grouping & Resource Sharing (IGRS) in Beijing o n Dec. 18 . The IT Engineering Center of IGRS, an industrial unit was jointly funded and established by the 8 Chinese major companies in IT, including the Lenovo, TCL, Great Wall Group, Changhong Group, Skyworth, Hisense, Konca Group and Intervision Co. Ltd. |
New Material for Optical Switch: Titanium Oxide Successfully Prepared
Recently, after development of the surface of superhydrophobic/ superhydrophilicities intelligent switch with light and heat response, the Research Group of Functional Interface Materials of the Laboratory of Organic Solids of the Institute of Chemistry, CAS, once again developed a material with titanium oxide as raw material for optical switch, which is expected to have industrial application.

The relevant research result was reported in the recent issue of Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2005, 44, 5115 гн 5118.
The relevant series of research results made by this research group has attracted the attention of their international colleagues. At request, they published a specific article, systematically introduced their progress in the bionic nano interface material with special infiltration on Acc.Cem. Res. 2005,38,644. |
