New Breakthrough in Developing Godson Series CPU Chip

On April 18, the Dragon activated in China and the ¡°chip¡± moved China¡ªa meeting on the release of the achievement of the Godson II and the establishment of the Industrialization Base was held in the Great Hall of the People. The Institute of Computing Technology (ICT), CAS, officially released to the public its home-made Godson series CPU, that is, Godson II, a high-performance general-purpose CPU (abbreviated as Godson II), which is its most recent research achievement. The institute and the Menglan Group, Jiangsu Province, also officially signed an agreement on strategic cooperation in establishing a base for industrialization of the Godson.

The advanced 4-transmission structure with super scalar quantity and super glide has been adopted for Godson II, with 64 KB of L1 instruction and cache inside the chip, which is up to 8MB of L2 cache outside the chip. To give free rein to the efficiency of the assembly line, advanced technology such as transfer guess, renamed register and dynamic control running in disorder, and the dynamic storing and visiting mechanism such as non-blocked cache and data access by guess have been realized in

Godson II. Godson II's highest frequency is 500MHz and power loss is 3-5 watts, which is much lower than that of the chips of the same type produced abroad.
