Telants Training Research & Development International Cooperation Friendly Visits  
  • On April 1, Prof. V. F. Filaretov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering and Director of the Office of Machinery Research of the Institute of Automation and Process Control, the Far Eastern Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was invited to have a short-term academic visit to the Shenyang Institute of Automation. He gave a lecture and had discussions with scientific staff of the institute.
  • Recently, K. Sakai, Chairman of the 28 th International Conference on Infrared and Millimeter Wave and research fellow of the Japanese National Institute of Communications, paid a visit to the Shanghai Technical Institute of Physics, CAS and had discussions with the colleagues of the institute.
  • On April 2, Prof. Bill Isherwood, a visiting expert of the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, gave a lecture entitled Causes and Effects of Changes in Climate
  • On April 5, Terukazu Eto, President of JEOL Ltd, and his entourage paid a visit to the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, CAS.
  • On April 7, Prof. Edward Allen Herre, a famous biologist from the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute paid a 3-week academic visit to Xihsuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden for cooperative research.
  • Recently, Dr. Meine van Noordwijk, General Facilitator of the World Agroforestry Centre in Asia and soil biologist, paid a visit to the Kunming Institute of Botany, CAS.
  • On April 8, Prof. Jean-Claude Pecker, Honorary Professor of the Institute of France and member of the Academy of Natural Sciences paid an academic visit to the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, CAS.
  • On April 11, Dr. Abulizi from the Medical School of the University of Goettingen paid a visit to the Xinjiang Institute of Technical Physics and Chemistry, CAS and gave a lecture entitled the Information Transmission in the Growth and Development of B-lymphocyte.
  • On April 12, Prof. Hansen from the University of Roskilde, Denmark, paid a visit to the Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics, CAS.
  • Recently, a group of three people led by Prof. Norton, Dean of the Department of the Earth and Space Sciences of the RMIT University, paid a visit to the Institute of Geodesy & Geophysics, CAS, on invitation.
  • On April 14, Prof. John Wood, Chairman of the Council for the Central Laboratories of the Research Councils £¬ CCLRC, and Prof. Henry Hutchinson, chief scientist of the council, paid a visit to the Institute of High-energy Physics, CAS.
  • On April 17-20, Dr. Komatsu Setsuko, a world-famous Japanese expert in the research of rice proteomics paid a visit to the Institute of Botany, CAS.
  • Recently, Peter Freeman and Bill Chang, vice presidents of the American National Science Foundation, and their entourage paid a visit to the Computer Network Information Center, CAS.
  • On April 18, Gunnar N¨¹tzmann, professor of the University of Humboldt, Germany, and Deputy Director of Lebnizi Institute of Fresh Water Ecology and Inland fishery, paid a visit to the Institute of Hydrobiology, CAS.
  • On April 19, Dr. Cees A. M. J. J. van den Hondel, professor of the Institute of Biology of the University of Leiden, Holland, paid a visit to the Institute of Microbiology, CAS. Both sides had a discussion about their cooperation in the selection and improvement of vaccines and high-flux screening technology.
  • On the afternoon of April 20, a group led by Bengt Danielsson from the Department of Chemistry of the Lund University, Sweden paid a visit to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, CAS.
  • On April 21, a delegation of 8 people headed by Director of the Sino-South Korean Cooperation Center for Science and Technology under the Korean Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology , paid a visit to the Kunming Institute of Botany, CAS.
  • On April 21, Dr. Steve Tanksley, professor from the Cornell University, a world famous plant breeding scientist , and member of the National Academy of Sciences, U.S. and his wife Dr. Theresa Fulton, Expert of education in biology, paid a visit to the Wuhan Botanical Garden, CAS.
  • On April 22, Motoyuki Ono, Chairman of the Japan Association for Promotion of Science, paid a visit to the Institute of High-energy of Physics, CAS.
  • On April 25, Andy Simpson, Deputy Project Director of the American Ludwig Cancer Research Institute, Jonathan Skipper, Deputy Director in charge of intellectual property rights, and Xin Lu, Director of the British Laboratory, paid a visit to the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, CAS. 
  • Recently, Magnus Mar Magnusson, Secretary General of the International Glaciological Society paid a visit to the Institute of the Tibetan Plateau Research, CAS.
  • On April 26, Emilio vento, a senior official from UNIDO, Elio Matacena, President of the Archimedes Bridge Corporation, Italy, Dr. Ludovico Fulci, Vice President of the Corporation, and the representatives attending the international conference on the use of energy of the ocean currents paid a visit to the Guangzhou Institute of Energy, CAS, and paid a visit to the Laboratory of Ocean Energy.
  • On May 1, Dr. Jeppesen from the Laboratory of Limnology and Estuaries of the NERI, paid a visit to the Institute of Hydrobiology , CAS on invitation.
  • On May 5, Dr. J.R. Wijbrans from the University of Liberty, Holland, paid a visit to the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, CAS.
  • On May 10, Dr. Kenneth Mac Clune from the Institute of the North Pole and Mountainous Regions Research of the University of Colorado paid a visit to the Institute of the Tibetan Plateau Research, CAS.
  • Recently, Eugene G. Arthurs, Executive President of the SPIE, and Li Longxia, President of the Yinnel Tech, U. S., paid a visit to the Shanghai Technical Institute of Physics, CAS.
  • On May 10, Prof. G.. Wagner from the Institute of Nuclear Physics, Max Planck Society ( Heideberg ) paid a visit to the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry.
  • On May 11, a group of 6 people headed by Mike Bushell from the Syngenta Company, UK, paid a visit to the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology , CAS.
  • Recently, a group of 13 people from the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and the Vietnamese-Swiss Rural Energy Resources Project paid a visit to the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion .
  • On May 18, Dr. Dieter R. Fuchs, Director of the European and International Affairs Department, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaf , Germany , paid a visit to the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, CAS.
  • On May 20, Prof. Steven Allen Feller, Dean of the Department of Physics of the Institute of CEO, U.S., paid a visit to the Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, CAS, for academic exchanges.
  • On May 22-23, Prof. Richard P. Suttmeier, a well-known expert of American policy science, paid a visit to the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS for academic exchanges and research.
  • On May 23, Madhv Kavki, Deputy Director of the International Center for Integrated Mountain Development, and his entourage paid a visit to the Chengdu Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, CAS.
  • On May 23, Howard Atkinson, Professor of Plant Nematology from the University of Leeds paid a visit to the Institute of Microbiology, CAS.
