Telants Training Research & Development International Cooperation Friendly Visits  

Lu Yongxiang and Bai Chunli Meet Delegation of Lund University, Sweden

On April 25, Bai Chunli, Executive Vice President of CAS, met with Prof. G?ran Bexell, President of the Lund University, and his delegation of 7 people in Beijing.

The two sides had discussions on establishing academic cooperation, particularly on strengthening cooperation in nano science and life science. After their talks, the Lund University signed agreements on school-level cooperation and exchanges with the Graduate School, CAS and the Chinese University of Science and Technology respectively. On April 26, Lu Yongxiang, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of CAS, met with visiting Prof. G?ran Bexell, President of the Lund University and his delegation, and entertained them to dinner.
Chen Zhu, Vice President of CAS, was invited to attend, for the first time, the annual meeting of the members of the U.S National Academy of Sciences and the meeting for the foreign members during the May Day Holidays. Vice President Chen Zhu and officials of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) reached consensus on many different projects for future cooperation between the two institutions and it is expected to re-sign the memorandum of understanding for the cooperation between the two institutions within this year.

Bai Chunli Meets Delegation of Alberta University, Canada

On April 12, Dr Gary Kachanoski, Vice President of the Alberta University, who headed a delegation of 7 people, paid a visit to CAS. Bai Chunli, Executive Vice President, CAS, met with the visitors. During their talks, the two sides briefed the relevant situation and expressed their wishes to further promote academic exchanges and cooperation, and talent training. They particularly wished to have exchanges and cooperation in the research of nano science.

President of Dutch Academy of Sciences Visits Graduate School of CAS

Recently, Dr. Willem J.M. Levelt, President of the Dutch Academy of Sciences headed a delegation to pay a visit to the Graduate School of CAS. The two sides held talks mainly around the Sino-Dutch Joint Doctorate Training Program, which was selected for cooperation recently.

Looking back on the history of the friendly contacts between the Dutch Academy of Sciences and CAS in the Past 20 years, President Willem J.M. Levelt spoke highly about the positive work attitude and high efficiency of the Inspection Delegation of the Graduate School of CAS during the evaluation and examination of the projects implemented in Holland. He said the Dutch Academy of Sciences is willing to enhance cooperation and exchanges with the Graduate School of CAS in its superior fields such as the life science, ecology and psychology.
