Breakthroughs Made in the Institute of Computing Technology on Next Generation Network Key Techs

On November 27, 2003, the Institute of Computing Technology, CAS, declared the great breakthroughs and application samples in the research of next generation network key technologies. According to the introductions by Prof. Zhongcheng Li, headed by Prof. Guojie Li, CAE member, chief scientist of the project, the Institute has made breakthroughs in some key supporting technologies aiming at IPv6 realization, IPv6 network testing, IPv4/IPv6 transferring and inter-change, IPv6 network monitoring management etc. Among them, the realization of IPv6 protocol testing system on special testing machine has been issued a full patent. This testing system has been adopted by some large telecom operators like France Telecom, Korea Telecom and many network equipment manufactures. Its testing ability has been effectively certified in the IPv6 testing organized by U.S. Department of Defense.
