Seven Foreign Members of the CAS Elected

At the recent 11th General Assembly of the CAS, seven scientists from foreign countries were elected as members of the Academy, including:

Prof. W. K. H. Panofsky, physicist, Standford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), USA; Prof. F.A.Cotton, chemist, University of Agriculture and Mechanics, Texas, USA; Prof. Gurdev S. Khush (Indian), biologist, International Rice Research Institute (IRRI); Prof. Else Marie Friis (Dane), palaeobotanist, Swedish Museum of Natural History; Prof. B. J. Hoskins, atmospheric scientist, Reading University (UK); Prof. Thomas S. Huang, expert in information and signal processing, Illinois University (USA); Prof. Theodore Yao-Tsu WU, expert in fluid mechanics and fluid physics, University of California, USA

Up to now, the CAS has 41 foreign members.
