According to the bilateral cooperation agreement between the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and National Science Centre (NCN) of Poland, the two sides will jointly fund cooperation exchange programs in 2025, to promote cooperation and exchanges between scientists of the two countries.

I. Program Description

(1) Funding areas

Funding areas include Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering and Materials Science, and Medical Sciences.

(2) Number of funding projects

The number of funding projects shall not exceed 25.

(3) Funding amount

The funding amount from the Chinese side shall not exceed 1.5 million yuan per project, including research funds and costs of international cooperation and exchange.

(4) Project duration

Research projects are expected to have a duration of three years. The research duration in the application should start on January 1, 2026 and end on December 31, 2028.

II. Eligibility

According to the Measures for Fund Management of NSFC-Funded International (Regional) Cooperation and Exchange Programs and the consensus reached by both sides, applications for this program must meet the following requirements:

(1) Polish applicants should meet the eligibility requirements of NCN for domestic applicants, and submit the application to NCN as required.

(2) Applications submitted by one side only will not be accepted.

(3) The application should embody strong cooperation and complementary advantages with a good cooperation basis.

III. Application Period

The online application acceptance period for the Chinese information system is from December 16, 2024 to March 17, 2025 at 4 pm.

IV. Approval Result Notification

Funding results will be posted on the NSFC’s online information platform at grants.nsfc.gov.cn/pmpweb/login.
