The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) is a prestigious and competitive fellowship. I am very lucky and happy to have found it. It is a great initiative towards science and technology for the scientific community to compete and work in state-of-the-art laboratories.
CAS’s Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) is a leading institute in the field of accelerator technology in the world. The faculty, staff, and students here work together in full harmony. The overall environment is very friendly and helpful for research and development.
As a part of the RF group of the accelerator division of IHEP, we have developed 02 proto-types klystrons for the collider ring of the CEPC project, which have already entered operation. Another 3rd prototype has been designed and is now in development. Also, S-band and C-band Klystrons for CEPC LINAC are also currently under design. Similarly, we have designed Klystrons for the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) for civil nuclear technology, which are being developed by Chinese companies.
I am living in Beijing with my daughter and wife. China and Beijing, in particular, is a wonderful place that is full of life and enjoyment. Life is very convenient and comfortable in China due to the availability of fast and easy access to resources. China has a long history and beautiful culture and traditions, which welcome people from other countries. Chinese people are very friendly, especially to Pakistani people because of their long friendship.
CAS is working towards the promotion of science and technology. More internationalization will be good. More funding and scholarships will help to attract young and talented people to join the giant projects of Science & Technology. A media campaign about CAS big projects in foreign countries’ ministries of science and technology, higher education, and universities is important to reach talented faculties and students and attract them to join CAS.
Collaboration is the key to generating new knowledge, as science cannot be done in isolation. It is a common heritage of mankind. I have developed the collaboration between CAS, IHEP, and the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, the University of the Punjab, Lahore, and the National Center for Physics. The scientists, teachers, and students visit and collaborate with each other in the field of high energy physics. In the future, more universities in Pakistan will collaborate with China to train and get expertise in Science & Technology.
