David Gross, president of the American Physical Society (APS), 2004 Nobel Laureate in Physics and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), visited CAS on August 21.
He exchanged ideas with other CAS members on promoting scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.
He said that current Sino-US scientific and technological exchange and cooperation faces an increasingly complex situation and the APS is willing to work with Chinese institutions to promote the dialogue and discussion between scientists of the two countries.
The society will also actively enhance mutual understanding and contribute to the academic exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States through exchange programs, he added.
