Two cooperation agreements were signed between the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission and Meteorological Department on Nov 3, 2018. CAS President Bai Chunli and Pakistani ambassador to China Masood Khalid were the signatories.
The agreements were signed during the meeting between Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan held in Beijing that day.
According to the agreements, the two sides will lead the research institutes in China and Pakistan with the two countries’ science and technology authorities to launch an earth science research center.
In addition, they will carry out scientific research and educational cooperation in combating natural disasters and dealing with environmental problems, resource development and sustainable growth of regional economies.
