CHINESE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES

The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) launched its 2019 President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) on July 31, welcoming global scientific researchers to visit or join CAS for scientific research and technological innovation.

China has grown into a world-leading nation with outstanding scientific research activities and rapid growth of scientific output. CAS, China’s largest scientific research institution, has more than 70,000 full-time researchers and manages over 80 percent of the Big Science facilities in the country. It is the strongest and most advanced academic scientific research institution in China, and covers nearly all the natural science fields and related technologies.

PIFI is a CAS project specially tailored to international scientists’ visits and exchanges as well as talents introduction. It has subsidized more than 3,000 scholars from 90 countries around the world since it was launched 10 years ago. We ask those intending to apply to log on to the international talents exchange platform(http://international-talent.cas.cn), where they will find more details about PIFI and can look for the most suitable CAS host in their research field.

Application for 2019 PIFI opens to global researchers for Category A (distinguished scientists), Category B (visiting scientists) and Category C (postdoctoral researchers). It will be open until the end of September.
