The 29^th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperaton (APEC) Ministerial Meeting issued a statement on Nov 10 adopting the APEC Policy Partnership on Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI)’s Jiading Declaration on the Internet of Vehicles initiated by the CAS Innovation Cooperation Center (Bangkok).

The Jiading Declaration closely reflects APEC’s core goals and pushes for cross-platform development of an Internet of Vehicles technology that integrates research, industry and education and promotes multilateral cooperation between Asia-Pacific economies in this field. The Jiading Declaration is an active response to the Belt and Road Initiative and calls for international transfer and commercialization of technological achievements, thus providing strong support for globalization and contributing to the development of the global innovation community.

The CAS Innovation Cooperation Center (Bangkok), relying on the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of CAS, is the first CAS overseas institution to mainly target the ASEAN while also serving all Belt and Road countries by promoting two-way science and technology innovation as well as technology transfer and commercialization. It shoulders the mission of encouraging CAS-affiliated enterprises, research institutes and universities to go international and deeply integrate with ASEAN economies, and aspires to become a major platform to facilitate CAS international science and technology exchanges and cooperation in Belt and Road countries and regions.
