On January 20, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) held a meeting at the CAS Institute of Policy and Management (IPM) in Beijing on setting up the CAS Institute of Science and Development (CASISD), a public institution with legal person status, based on the IPM.
The CASISD will serve as a comprehensive platform to support the CAS Academic Divisions (CASAD) in playing its role as a think-tank and carrying out policy and strategy studies in science and technology by pooling resources from both within and outside the CAS. It will be a major move of the academy’s ongoing reform to build a high-level science and technology think-tank.
