The 2nd Beijing International Forum on Lunar and Deep-Space Exploration (LDSE) was held at the Beijing International Convention Center on September 8.
The biennial forum’s first session was held in 2013. This year’s forum focused on solar system exploration, with the aim to promote international cooperation in research, technology and strategic planning in the LDSE area.
Scientists discussed the latest developments and achievements in LDSE at the meeting.
According to Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Vice-President Yin Hejun, China will maintain momentum in deep-space exploration as well as research in planetary and space sciences.
He urged Chinese scientists to continue exploring the mysteries of the universe and to make greater contributions to the peaceful utilization of outer space.
More than 160 experts and scholars – including those from the US, Britain, Germany, France, Sweden and Canada – attended the forum and delivered a total of 90 reports.
