The first Africa China World Bank Education Partnership Forum on Higher Education, Science and Technology, held in Beijing on July 10, was intended to deepen exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese Academy of Sciences and African universities and research institutions.
Jointly organized by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the World Bank and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the forum was themed on higher education development and innovation, talents cultivation, market transformation of scientific and technological achievements and China-Africa cooperation.
The forum’s attendees discussed cutting-edge technology in agriculture, renewable energy, information telecommunication technology, medical care, railways, innovation and technology transfer, university governance and education management as well as cooperation among governments, education training organizations and enterprises.
They also visited several companies, including Lenovo Group and Dawning Information Industry Co Ltd.
