Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) President Bai Chunli met with Canada's Minister of Natural Resources Jim Carr in Beijing on June 6. Bai and Carr renewed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation between the two sides.
Under the MOU, the parties will carry out exchange and cooperation in clean energy, Earth science and mineral resources.
Carr said Canada's new government attaches great importance to science and technology cooperation with China, and expressed the hope that the two sides will carry out more mutually beneficial cooperation in smart grid, bioenergy and other fields.
