CAS Vice-president Zhang Yaping welcomed a delegation led by Mr. Surachai Liengboonlertchai, the first vice-president of the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand, in Beijing on April 23.

They exchanged ideas on opportunities of cooperation, including the CAS’s initiative to set up an innovation center in Bangkok, capital of Thailand.

Zhang said the establishment of the center would further enhance CAS’s cooperation with Thailand in scientific research, technology transfer and talent cultivation.

Liengboonlertchai agreed. He said the dynamics of China’s S&T development and the strong research capabilities of CAS institutes had left a deep impression on him and his delegation. He promised that continuous support would be provided as ever for Thai research institutions to conduct personnel exchange and joint research programs with CAS, and efforts would be made to facilitate the setup of the CAS-proposed innovation center in Bangkok.
