CAS Vice-president Zhang Yaping met with an Egyptian delegation led by Hazem Mansour, assistant of Egyptian Minister of Scientific Research, in Beijing on May 6.
Zhang stressed that CAS attached great importance to scientific and technological cooperation with Egypt, adding that the two sides had conducted a variety of research programs in fields such as agriculture in arid areas, applications of remote sensing, desertification prevention and control, and so on. He briefed the Egyptian guests on CAS President’s International Fellowship Initiative, hoping that Egyptian scientists would take full advantage of the opportunity provided by the Fellowship to work and/or study in China, so as to deepen cooperation between the two countries.
